Richard Berry is Dean of the Graduate School and Professor of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Prior to July 1, 2015, he was Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Ric holds the bachelor's and master's degree in music from Stephen F. Austin State University, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Before his service as Provost, he was Dean of the College of Fine Arts. He is particularly interested in enhancing excellence in instruction and the development of interdisciplinary programs. Dr. Berry is a tenor and continues to perform occasionally. He teaches courses in voice pedagogy in the School of Music at SFA. He is certified as an evaluator of academic programs for the Southern Association of Colleges and School Commission on Colleges. He also serves as a consultant on academic affairs and strategic planning for academic institutions.
